Nirupama Belliappa is a Canadian-Indian journalist, writer, television presenter and producer covering food, drink, travel and culture. She explores places through the people who shape them - their culinary traditions, creative practices and relationships with the land.

A deep appreciation for artistry and craftsmanship runs through her work, including her coverage of Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury properties, where culinary technique, design and a sense of place are particular interests. She is drawn to the knowledge behind a finished creation: the choices a chef makes about ingredients, the patience involved in producing a wine, or the skills passed between generations of cooks and makers. Her writing combines close observation and vivid sensory detail with cultural context and a sense of humour.

With more than a decade of experience as a features writer, her bylines include Travel + Leisure Asia,  Lifestyle Asia, Luxuria Lifestyle UK and other publications. Previously, she spent five years at NDTV as a presenter, producer and assistant features editor, developing and hosting programmes spanning travel, food and wine, music, art and culture.
